The maiden amputee skill training program came off in December 2022. The program provided 14 amputees and caregivers with hands-on skills in soap and detergent preparation, beads making, and snail and mushroom farming. The goal of the program is to equip amputees who do not have skills that can attract monetary value to support self-dependence and good quality of life. By training the amputees in these skills, Smiles of Hope seeks to put the amputees and caregivers on the trajectory of becoming self-dependent and improving their quality of life.
